Visiontree, a leader in cloud-based, patient reported outcomes, patient engagement, population health and multi-center research/registry solutions, is pleased to announce that the Visiontree Optimal Care™ (VTOC) platform was selected for use to formalize a MNG-QOL instrument for meningioma patients.
With the help of the Wolf Meningioma Research Fund, more than ten thought leading academic neurosurgery programs are collaborating for a cloud-based, prospective quality of life outcome study based on a proposed MNG-QOL instrument. MNG-QOL represents a first effort to formalize such an instrument for meningioma patients. Questions specific to tumor site will allow surgeons to better assess specific quality of life issues not addressed in the past by more general questionnaires.
"With outcomes analysis of surgical and radiosurgical treatments becoming more important, measures of the adequacy and success of treatment are needed. Solutions like Visiontree Optimal Care (VTOC) are critical to our ability to deliver value-based healthcare on both a patient and population health level, incorporating longitudinal quality of life measures. This is part of our long-term vision and strategy to measure and improve quality of care for meningioma patients, as well as deliver a model for other areas in neurological surgery."
Implemented at 600+ sites globally, including 8 of the top 10 U.S. News and World Report Hospitals, with 2.5M+ patients, the VTOC platform provides a seamless solution for longitudinal, electronic patient reported outcomes (ePROMs) data collection and delivering value-based care. VTOC delivers automated reporting of this electronic quality of life data at specified timepoints as actionable data with an available library of over 200 validated patient reported outcomes assessments, as well as reporting to multi-institutional research and registry initiatives, including export to the Medidata Rave®, the database for NCI's National Clinical Trials Network (NCTN).
"We are excited to be working with Dr. McDermott and the MNG-QOL consortium. They have developed a leading-edge quality of life initiative in neurosurgical surgery for meningioma patients and we are proud to be a part of it. VTOC is also used by leading institutions nationally and globally for longitudinal quality of life data collection, quality reporting, as well as participation in multi-center research studies and registries. We are looking forward to continue providing patient-centered outcomes, integrated care and research solutions for the rapidly evolving value-based healthcare ecosystem, cancer survivorship and population health data management."
With over a decade in clinical use, VTOC has documented improvements in patient care and the clinical workflow; including up to 20% reduction in non-urgent phone calls, up to 30% improvement in missed appointments, over 30% increased patient satisfaction, and over 40% improved compliance for capturing longitudinal PROMs. VTOC helps providers in delivering risk-adjusted outcomes data, on an individual patient or an aggregate level, for an optimized delivery of quality and efficiency in on-going patient care.
