VisionTree®, a leader in cloud-based patient-centered health data management, communication and integrated research systems for patient reported outcomes is pleased to announce that will be conducting a Training Workshop at the upcoming NRG Oncology Semi-Annual Meeting being held in Denver, CO July 16-19th, 2015.
Based on a pilot study in prostate cancer (RTOG 0828), RTOG experienced success in the ability to improve data collection, validation, and reporting processes through the use of VisionTree's oncology-specific, clinical research application - VisionTree Optimal Care™ (VTOC). RTOG 0920 (head and neck), 0928 (prostate) and 0924 (prostate) have successfully implemented PROMs data collection for study patients using VTOC, as well.
With multiple studies now underway using the VTOC platform for electronic patient reported outcomes data collection, NRG Oncology has launched HN001 and HN002, head and neck cancer studies including a set of four (4) quality of life assessments that are being provided to patients in the languages of English, Chinese, Cantonese and Mandarin. VTOC has also deployed its web service API for automated reporting of this electronic QOL data at specified, longitudinal timepoints to the Medidata Rave®, the database for NCI's National Clinical Trials Network (NCTN).

In addition to the training workshop being held at the Denver meeting in July, the VisionTree team will also provide monthly training sessions for participating NRG Oncology sites with separate sessions being offered for sites in the U.S. and those participating in Asia.
This integrated QOL data collection and reporting solution for NRG Oncology provides seamless reporting capabilities and the VTOC platform with its library of 200+ quality of life assessment instruments offers a scalable, user-friendly solution to electronic patient reported outcomes data collection for future studies going forward.
The VTOC system empowers patients to provide important feedback directly with their physicians electronically, as well as build their own personal health records to help make the best decisions at the most critical times and provide a means of long-term communication for their care. VTOC is providing a patient-centric solution for clinical trials participation and long-term care for oncology patients and their coordinated care team. VTOC is a system whose time has come and we are pleased that it is making a difference in collecting long-term Quality of Life data that often goes missing.
