Visiontree®, a leader in cloud-based modular electronic health records, patient engagement, and population health data management; announced today that its Visiontree Optimal Care™ (VTOC) v5.0 platform received additional certification for "Creating Patient Clinical Summaries" under the Drummond Group's Electronic Health Records Office of the National Coordinator Authorized Certification Body (ONC-ACB) program. This new certification expands VTOC's existing modular EHR compliance in accordance with the criteria adopted by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
The VTOC v5.0 platform is implemented at over 500 sites nationally and globally; including 8 of the top 10 U.S. News and World Report Hospitals. VTOC is successfully used in 12+ countries comprising over 2M patient users as a patient portal including patient reported outcomes and providing a unique, clinical and multi-center research/registry solution. The VTOC roles and rules based platform is further certified under the ARRA HITECH Act, and is PQRS and 21 CFR Part 11 compliant. VTOC provides best in class interoperability with other EHRs and is compliant with the Blue Button+ initiative, HL7 v2.x, Direct messaging, as well as web-service APIs. VTOC's wide-range of interoperability options allow for flexible integration with any EHR, Lab Management, Scheduling System, and Health Information Exchange (HIE) network on a regional or national level using industry based standards.
Including the additional certification for the §170.314(e)(2) "Create a Patient Clinical Summary" object and measure, the VTOC v5.0 platform has now completed modular EHR certification for the following items:
Drummond Group's ONC-ACB certification program certifies that EHRs meet the meaningful use criteria for either eligible provider or hospital technology. In turn, healthcare providers using the EHR systems of certified vendors are qualified to receive federal stimulus monies upon demonstrating meaningful use of the technology - a key component of the federal government's push to improve clinical care delivery through the adoption and effective use of EHRs by U.S. healthcare providers. This certification does not represent an endorsement by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. For disclosure of our price transparency as a 2014 certified modular EHR, the VTOC v5.0 platform may require of our customers ongoing monthly or annual costs to support the cloud-based application and online patient services. Support for integration of this certified product version with other ONC certified systems may also require additional one-time costs.
With its recent additional certification and ability to "Create a Patient Clinical Summary" VTOC can receive, parse, and send Consolidated CDA (C-CDA) compatible clinical data with SNOMED-CT, RxNorm, LOINC and CPT codes to help patients build and share their personal health record (PHR) while helping providers undertake multi-center research and registry initiatives and track outcomes using the VTOC 360™ Analytics engine. With this baseline clinical data, VTOC 360 Analytics supports risk-adjusted longitudinal outcomes and population health reporting using simple and intuitive user-created charts dashboards and presentation mode templates. More than 300 VTOC sites are participating in national and global multi-center research and registry initiatives in the fields of neuro/spine surgery, urology, and oncology using patient reported outcomes (PROMs), clinical reported outcomes (CROMs) assessments with VTOC's protocol and template manager, and web service APIs.
Patients with access to the VTOC patient portal as a part of their provider's patient engagement initiatives are able to build their PHR using "Clinical Summaries" obtained from encounters with various providers using disparate EHR systems. VTOC is able to utilize a patient's Clinical Summaries to auto-populate patient reported outcomes forms, includng a living health history form, further reducing the need for redudant data collection from a patient. VTOC also allows a patient to easily communicate with other members of their coordinated care team using the View/Download/Transmit (VDT) feature via Direct messaging for access to a national network of providers.
"We are seeing a rapid increase in the adoption of the VTOC platform using its significant library of standards-based PROMs and CROMs with roles-based alerts to deliver improved levels of patient engagement and care team communication, as well as patient input contributing to their treatment pathway decisions with their provider. Visiontree is proud to have attained this additional certification milestone. These certifications are an important step in VTOC's strategic initiative to provide a modular, lightweight SaaS solution for delivering Meaningful Use Stages 1 & 2 measures, helping patients build their PHR including interoperability with HIEs/ACOs, as well as participating in multi-center research and registry initiatives on a national and global level"
"Leveraging information technology for healthcare initiatives provides the opportunity to deliver a high-level quality of care and efficiency which essentially benefits and enhances the overall patient experience. We have been testing software for more than a decade and will continue to provide our extensive experience testing and certifying complex systems for multiple industries, as well as ensuring interoperability and security remain key components in the growing healthcare industry"
