Visiontree Software, Inc., announced today that its Visiontree Optimal Care™ (VTOC) v4.0 web-based, patient/provider portal system has been certified as an EHR Module by the Drummond Group, Inc., an ONC-ATCB (Authorized Testing and Certification Body). The 2011/2012 criteria support the Stage 1 meaningful use measures required to qualify eligible providers for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
The following VTOC EHR modules are 2011/2012 compliant and have been certified by an ONC-ATCB. The certification number for Visiontree Optimal Care™ (VTOC) Version 4.0 is 04072011-1140-8:
"VTOC makes it easy for providers and patients to communicate securely online and exchange clinical data relevant to their care. We are honored to be certified for the clinical data exchange module and believe this certification will help hospitals achieve their Meaningful Use objectives. We also see this is a key component to building patient-level participation in population health and national registry programs."
The VTOC 360™ approach allows providers to configure their modular, VTOC portal system with core components of a paperless, patient management workflow including these features: eRegister, Care Plan Templates, Secure 2-way Messaging, Document Management, Quality Workflow Manager, eReferral Network, ePrescribing, Bill Payment, Dynamic Reporting and Multi-Site Research Management.
"We are seeing a rapid increase in patient and provider utilization of VTOC, realizing the many benefits of a completely paperless documentation and communication workflow," Martin Pellinat added, "Visiontree is proud to have attained this milestone, and will pursue certification of additional ONC criteria this year. "These certifications are an important step in VTOC's strategic initiative to provide a modular, lightweight SaaS solution that fills in the technology gaps for patient-centered communication, data exchange, research programs and population health registry participation on a community and national level."
The VTOC patient portal integrates with multiple EHR products to help deliver operational efficiency and quality care. Over the last 7 years in clinical use, VTOC has documented realizable, clinical workflow improvements in the areas of missed appointments, reduction in non-urgent phone calls and improving compliance for capturing quality of life data.
About ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 certification
The ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 certification program tests and certifies that EHR technology is capable of meeting the 2011/2012 criteria approved by the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS). The certifications include Complete EHRs, which meet all of the 2011/2012 criteria for either eligible provider or hospital technology and EHR Modules, which meet one or more - but not all - of the criteria. This certification does not represent an endorsement by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services or guarantee the receipt of incentive payments. ONC-ATCB certification aligns with Health Information Technology: Initial Set of Standards, Implementation Specifications, and Certification Criteria for Electronic Health Record Technology published in the Federal Register in July 2010 and strictly adheres to the test procedures published by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) at the time of testing.
